A bicycle benefit ride in
Northern McHenry County

Thank you to the riders who joined us on Sunday October 12, 2008, for the SECOND ANNUAL AFFF Bike Ride.  We appreciate the many kind comments and encouragement to host the event again next year, and we will!  This year, back by popular demand, all riders will be treated to an old-fashioned "Pig Roast" following their rides at no extra cost.   Plan your ride accordingly, as the Pig Roast will begin serving at 11 a.m.   Staggered with the Bike Ride will be the second annual Ward Weber Memorial "Poker Run" motorcycle ride.  The route for this event is separate from the bike ride. 

We hope that you will join us again on Sunday, October 11th 2009, come rain or shine, at the Richmond Township Fire Protection District's Fire Station for the third annual Richmond Associated Firefighter's Fall Fifty Bike Ride, hosted by the Richmond Firefighter's Association.  This year we will be featuring new routes into southern Wisconsin from 20 miles up to 62 miles (100km). The metric century route has over 3,000 feet of climbing.  If you like hills, you'll like this route.

Routes are 62, 50, 36, 25, and 20 miles.  The terrain is flat to gently rolling with an occasional hill. (The 62-mile route has some BIG hills!)  Family rides are still encouraged as the Prairie Trail (crushed limestone) is located right across the street from our fire station.  All road routes will have rest stops with food and beverages.  SAG wagon drivers will patrol the routes to assist you if you need help.

Parking opens at 6:30 a.m.  On site registration is from 7:00 a.m. to Noon.  50-mile riders should register by 8 a.m., if not pre-registered and start by 11 am.  Pre-registrations must be postmarked by October 4, 2009. 

T-shirts (long sleeve by popular demand) will be back and are best ordered ahead of time with your registration.  A limited number of T's will be available the day of the ride.  Long sleeve T's will be available for $15 for registrations received by October 4th.  T's will also be available to order online.  Sizes Adult Small to Adult XL $15, XXL and XXXL $16.
